Join Marc Rogoff as he portrays Joseph Leidy, known as “The Last Man Who Knew Everything”. He was a surgeon, paleontologist, parasitologist, geologist, and forensic scientist. Considered the “Father of American Paleontology”, he named and described the first nearly complete dinosaur ever uncovered, the Hadrosaurus, which is the Official State Dinosaur of NJ. This event is free with Day Pass Admission.

THE DINOSAURS COME ALIVE AT NIGHT! The thrill of adventure awaits as you set out on the ultimate cretaceous campout. On Friday and Saturday nights from August 9-24, you and your family can sleep under the stars with the dinosaurs and enjoy a lantern lit tour of the trails, an evening snack, games and activities and more! Come and learn about the puppetry behind the shows at Field Station: Dinosaurs and beyond with our Lead Puppeteer, Chris Palmieri! Our fellow scientists will get to learn about the art, history, and science of puppets and learn how they can be puppeteers and put on shows of their very own! This event is free with Day Pass Admission.

Paleo Artist, Chris DiPiazza returns to Field Station: Dinosaurs to teach junior paleontologists how to draw a dinosaur. Demonstrations at 11am and 2pm and are included in Day Pass admission.

Dinosaurs After Dark

Friday and Saturday Evenings, October 4 through October 26.

A spooky, funny and thrilling adventure for the whole family featuring a lantern lit tour of the park! But watch out! The trails are dark and there’s a hungry T-Rex lurking in the shadows. A fearless Dinosaur Wrangler will lead a Tyrannosaurus Hunt along the Field Station’s darkened trails with a stop at every dinosaur and a few surprises along the way.

At the end of the night, everyone will gather around the campfire for a dinosaur sing-a-long, roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate!

Scout Day

Meet the experts in topics ranging from camping to lizards to paleontology. Try out hands-on activities that are applicable to Brownie and Girl Scout Badges, Cub Scout belt loops and Boy Scout merit badges. All Scouts in uniform will earn a commemorative Field Station patch!

BRING YOUR DOG TO THE PARK DAY!  For one day only it’s Dogs and Dinosaurs at the Field Station. Join us out on the trails with your cretaceous canine. Dogs are family too so bring them along to the park with your junior paleontologists. Regular ticket prices and certain restrictions apply.

🐾  Must be dog dog friendly.

🐾  Must be up-to-date on vaccines.

🐾  NO retractable leashes permitted.

🐾  Must show proof of waste bags upon entering the park.

🐾  Service dogs are always welcome at the Field Station.

🐾  FSD reserves the right to refuse any dog entry to the park.
